I'm not sure if it's intentional or what but the latest year you can mark as your year of birth when signing up is 1996.

As I mentioned to you, but I thought I'd clarify for anyone else who reads this...

This is actually not a bug, but a hidden feature that, up until now, lacked an interface to change its value. The idea is that the site can require users to be older than a minimum age limit and under a maximum age limit. The default values are 13 years for minimum and 80 years for maximum.

I have just added the admin tool to control this (admin tool 215); which will be included in 1.0.0b4.
