I'm trying to find some more resource indexes I can list Theia in, and I decided to check out sourceforge.net to see if they had PHP scripts as well. Sure enough, I did find a bunch, so I was getting ready to create my account, when I read through their terms (yes, I actually read agreements most of the time). I caught this:

By submitting, posting or displaying Content on or through SourceForge.net, you grant COMPANY a worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, fully sublicensable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, create derivative works from, publish, perform, display, rent, resell and distribute such Content (in whole or part) on SourceForge.net and incorporate Content in other works, in any form, media, or technology developed by COMPANY, though COMPANY is not required to incorporate Feedback into any COMPANY products or services.

Now maybe it's just me, but that sure came as a shocker. Here I always thought SourceForge was known as a great purveyor of the open-source and *free* software mentality, and their agreement apparently grants them the permission to sell content added. This alone is in direct contradiction to Theia's license, which clearly states it can never be sold or incorporated into any software that will be sold. Because of this, I have closed the tab and forgotten all about SourceForge for now.

Oh, and don't you love those really long, run-on sentences that string together as many as possible terms so that by the time you are done reading them you don't even remember what it was about anymore!? ;) hahaha...

If you can't sell it then it's not open source.
