Theia is aiming towards eventually classifying virtually any concept within it's functionality as an "object". Don't think in terms of object-abstraction, if you are a programmer; instead think of objects as things such as members, items, clubs and so forth.

The idea behind classifying such concepts as objects is to give them IDs so they can be well integrated into Theia's functionality. For example, instead of having to create a multitude of SQL tables for different types of ratings or comments, there only needs to be one table for ratings and one table for comments, as the type of object being rated or commented on is saved in a field within this table.

Thus, this also allows programmers building off of Theia's core to easily work with Theia's various utilities like rating and commenting, by simply plugging in a custom type ID. If you wish to create your own object types within Theia, you are strongly encouraged to start from 500 and go up to 999, since the first 500 are reserved for further developments within Theia.
