Up until now, it was only possible to enable or disable something from appearing on the home page.
Now, not only are many new features being added, but each feature can be enabled or disabled for any type of users; thus you can show recent content, recent blog or gallery items and what not only for members - or if you use custom member groups, you can show things only for them. Of course, you can also let everything appear for guests, if you like.
Simply put, there is a quite a bit more flexibility with what will be displayed on the home page; not just what you can choose from, but who it will be relevant to.
So now that you are aware of this, if you have an account here and pop in to the home page, you may see somethings looking a bit kooky; this is just because I am updating it now.
