Managing the control panel shouldn't seem to overwhelming since there isn't much to it besides adding buttons (which are known as the "available buttons") and moving buttons from the "available buttons" to the "default set". The default set consists of standard set of and order of buttons your members will have, unless they have customized their set.

First let's go over the three settings at the top:
  • enabled for refers to who has access to the control panel
  • allow customization for refers to who is allowed to customize their own unique set of buttons
  • image size refers to the width (in pixels) that uploaded images will be resized to when adding new buttons
After those three settings comes the two lists of the buttons.

The available buttons consists of any buttons which are available to your members (assuming they are permitted to customize their own unique set).

The default set consists of all of the buttons which will be a part of each new members' control panel (or any member who has not customized their control panel). The order in which the buttons are (from the top left) also determines the order in which the buttons will appear for members.

Adding new buttons

To begin adding a new button, locate the "add new button" button. Upon clicking it a dialog overlay will pop up with the following fields:
  • button name refers to some identifier or name for the button being added
  • button description refers to text that will pop-up when the user mouses-over the button
  • button image refers to the actual button image file itself (jpg, gif or png); the image will automatically be resized to the specified size (see above) upon uploading
  • button destination refers to the destination URL where the user will go when they click the button
  • button access refers to who is allowed to use this button

Editing and removing buttons

The control panel configuration tool uses a context-menu, which means if you right click on any of the buttons two links will become available; one for editing and one for deleting. Editing the button will open the same pop-up dialog as when you add a button, but the values will be filled in already for the button being edited. If you delete a button from the available buttons, it will also be automatically removed from the default set at the same time.
